Light from the side, not from the camera
Lights close to the lens light up the particles in front of it and wash out the picture. Mount them apart and angled in.
A flat port narrows the view
Behind a flat window a camera sees a narrower angle in water than in air; a dome keeps more of it. Check the housing as well as the lens.

Do I need a separate housing for these cameras?
